The half day care locations of KleintjeZuid are accredited preschools. Here, we focus on stimulating scholastic skills by using the educational programme ‘Startblokken’. This method is characterised by a development-oriented approach. The focus lies on working in small groups. Every day, the educational staff plan a fun and educational activity for the children to stimulate playing abilities and conversation, reading and writing skills. These learning activities complement our general educational policy and approach.
By playfully practicing these skills, children are even better prepared for their primary school education. ‘Startblokken’ is a teaching method for child centres. The programme is characterised by a development-oriented approach to match current developmental opportunities and the interest of the children in the group while, at the same time, it encourages taking the next step in the child’s development.

Within the framework of this programme, we present fun and educational activities at least 16 hours a week. Playful activities for example, to encourage conversation, reading and writing skills, as well as calculation and mathematics skills. These learning activities complement our general educational policy and approach.
